Tears a Turnoff?

Posted on: January 11th, 2011 by wmapother 5 Comments

Here’s a bit of randomness for you:  According to this New York Times piece here, researchers investigating the evolutionary purpose of tears discovered that women’s tears can be a sexual turnoff for some men.

The mind reels with possible directions in which to take this post.  I mean, how many more ways can we men fail to understand what you women aren’t saying?

I bet 90% of the scholars who wrote the article are men. If men don't want to see us cry so don't provoke us πŸ˜€

Andrea, I'm agree with you xD

This article is just more proof to my theory that "men don't understand us"
Then just cry and chocolate to console us,poor us πŸ™‚

Actually, the article isn't critical of women or crying, and my post certainly wasn't intended to be. (I was aiming more for 'yet another humorous difference between the genders'…) As the article points out, humans are seemingly the only species to cry emotional tears, so scientists were trying to understand the evolutionary cause.
' The discovery of a chemical signal in tears suggests β€œa novel functional role for crying,” said Martha K. McClintock, a professor of psychology at the University of Chicago who is known for her work on pheromones and behavior. β€œIt really broadens the possibilities of where signals are coming from.” '

Believe crying is good for both men and women. The big problem is that men do not like to cry in public because she thought it's to show weakness.
