Burrowers Trailer Released

Posted on: April 14th, 2009 by wmapother 4 Comments

In anticipation of next week’s DVD release of The Burrowers, Lionsgate has posted the official trailer for the film here, hosted by the kind folks at Shock Till You Drop. I’d be a dang liar if I said I wasn’t a bit disappointed that audiences weren’t going to see this Horror-Western on a big screen. (It looks terrific that large, and them dirt-dwellers, well, seein’ them babies at 50 feet high ain’t gonna be helpin’ your dreamin’ none. And isn’t that why you see them sorta picture shows?) Regardless, JT Petty and the gang made a fun fusion of the two genres, one I really enjoyed…almost as much as I enjoyed gettin’ paid to ride horses.

SXSW

Just returned from another raucous trip to Austin’s South by Southwest Festival. Two friends won the Special Jury Prize with the premiere of their documentary, The Way We Get By; I was able to watch a rehearsal of the theatre troupe Rude Mechs‘s upcoming show; and, not least in any way, shape, or form, I saw the Waco Brothers perform two terrific shows. If you haven’t treated yourself, listen to a few pieces of their rockin’ alt country here on iTunes. Go ahead, I’ll wait.. Really, I will. Go on. (Back in just a sec.) Right? See what I mean? If you have them on and aren’t moving, check yourself for a pulse. They’re all over my workout playlist, which is why I blame them for my reputation at the gym for being a spaz.

Getting Human with Humana

Hear Ye, Hear Ye.  Until April 11, the famous Humana Festival of New American Plays is being held at Louisville’s Actors Theatre.  For details, click here.  Actors Theatre is where I walked the boards last year in “Glengarry Glen Ross.”  Apparently, the theatre survived.  It’s the 33rd Humana Festival, which has previously seen premieres by David Mamet and Wendy Wasserstein, among others.  I was in Louisville recently and saw the terrific production of “Ameriville.”  If you’re anywhere near the city, or even if you’re not, I highly recommend seeing some of the work.  A couple actors from my “Glengarry” production, Larry John Meyers and Stephen Webber, both of whom are still talking to me, appear in two of the productions.  Just go already!

Two New Interviews

In the past few weeks, two new interviews have been posted in the links to the right.  Both are with European ‘Lost’ fan sites.  And both, thankfully, are in English.  I don’t know about you, but my Dutch is a bit rusty.
